St. Francis Girls SHS, Assisi

Thirteen Teachers in the Jirapa Municipality and Currently with the St. Francis Girls of Assisi SHS have been issued a directive to pay a collective tune of Ghc3,120 or individually make a payment of Ghc240 as rent for occupying bungalows of the School from January to December 2022.

This was after the Auditor General’s investigations for the Audit Year 2022 captured in Report Of The Auditor-general On The Public Accounts Of Ghana: Colleges Of Education And Pre-university Educational Institutions For The Financial Year Ended 31 December 2022.

Outstanding rent – GH¢3,120.00

Regulation 46 of the Public Financial Management Regulation 2019 requires that a Principal Spending Officer shall ensure the efficient collection of revenue due.

Our audit revealed that 13 occupants of St. Francis Senior High school’s bungalows defaulted in payment of rent totalling GH¢3,120.00. Details are below:

The Auditor General has directed the School’s Management to Recover the Monies without further delay. Statement Below:

The college was therefore denied rent revenue of GH¢29,420.00 for its’ operations including maintenance of the bungalows.

We recommended to management to recover the amount of GH¢3,120.00 from the defaulting staff without further delay.

St. Francis Girls SHS is one of the Oldest Single Sex Senior High Schools in Upper West Region.
