We are all cought in either of these traps and it’s prudent to analyze our way of life to conform with ethical standards of society.

Rivalry in marriage has created enmity amongst us in a way but we seem to downplay it, in marriage rivalry, there is competition, there is the zeal for one to fall for the other to rise so we including our children have transferred such an attitude around and try to Apply it everywhere.

These are some of the setbacks attitude is causing and how to address it.

Firstly, Producing More Children without Investments, Lots of people produce children with the slogan ‘God takes care of children’, they later call rich people names for not helping them, producing many children for fun without Investments is dangerous to development.

Secondly, Rejoicing within After hearing bad news: Lots of people amongst us rejoice over bad news due to upbringing at home, rivalry and Competitions at home has made it a norm for people to rejoice over the Downfall of their competitors. It’s an abysmal development we should put a stop to.

Thirdly, Not Discussing Success Stories and Good News: Mostly in our part of the world, people pay little attention to good and positive news, an example is how people respond to naming ceremonies and funerals. In the media space, when there is an Accident people rush to find details with others looking for lotto numbers but when it’s about education, development Projects we behave as if we’re not affected, that is why more negativity is recorded day in day out Even in the news, our change of preference will help issues.

Fourthly, Criticizing little efforts of people: some students were tasked to undertake a project in a basic school, whilst some students were presenting herbal medicines others were laughing at it and tagging it as local research yet could not provide any research work, this means we try belittling others yet we have no achievements to show.

Lastly, Not allocating a penny of your income to community development. As a Health Worker, a Teacher, a Business Man etc, what have you allocated for the development of your community, since when have you donated books to any of your public schools, not even pens, yet we blame politicians for doing little, do we even do the little at all?. That’s one of our big problem, even a school desk for your own child you won’t buy yet waiting for government to buy it.
