Dear Royal Cosy Hills Safari Resort

Kudos for hosting JoyNews Breakfast Live at your premises. Indeed, it was a good PR strategy to sell your services to Ghana and the world at large.

However, I have the following suggestions to share;

1)He who pays the piper indeed calls the tune; however, it was not best to focus the entire show only at your premises detailing your luxurious rooms and safari. Luxury sells, but the truth is it is not enough to entice patrons. Persons living in the South have equally matching luxurious places over there and for those in the diaspora, luxury doesn’t entice at all. The safari needed more detailed attention than the edifice.

2)It wasn’t enough to highlight only what you have at your hotel; it would have been best if you leveraged that opportunity to shed light on the other tourist sites we have in the region like the Ombo Wura, Gwollu slave defence wall, Sankana Caves, Wecheaiu Hippo Sanctuary, Kulmasa Crocodile Pond, Nanvili Anthills etc These additions could have been the gamechanger. Let people know that there are even more exciting sites to visit that are within proximity. It makes coming even more exciting since there are a lot of compliments.

3) It would have been great talking about the colonial relevance of the region. The fact that about 80% of slaves were captured from Northern Ghana so Africans in the diaspora can trace their roots here. This should have been linked to the tourist sites in the region with resounding colonial/slave trade relevance

4) I am glad running the Joy News host about our neglect by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts And Culture and he did justice in fusing facets of our conversation during the show

5) It is not right to detach Jirapa from its immediate environment thus, the Upper West Region and even Northern Ghana by extension. I saw invited panelists attempting to distance the location of the Safari from the region making it look as if Jirapa is an Island on its own. Upper West Region and Northern Ghana by extension is your primary market, they keep business afloat, cut out the region and business will run down. Patronage from natives in Jirapa is woefully inadequate to keep you in business. Weave your existence as a regional success for collective ownership which will boost patronage.

Conclusion

I hope that going forward, these nuggets of my personal opinion will be considered in your unfolding PR activities that’s if it makes sense.

Barika.
