Two Second Cycle Schools in the Nadowli-Kaleo District have suspended the collection of PTA Levies after series of Discussions and agitations on platforms including the Media.

The Decision Arrived at on Friday 15th of December 2023 has enthused several parents who had issues raising the amounts before their wards could report to school.

First Year Students of Queen of Peace SHS were to pay Ghc370 at Levies to the PTA when reporting to school. This will cover items include two Crests of Queen of Peace SHS at Ghc30, Tracksuits at Ghc220 and Development Project Levy at a cost of Ghc120.

Also in St Bastlide’s Technical Institute, a letter Signed by Mr. Martin Tang, PTA Chairman of St. Bastlide’s Technical Institute issued the following Directive:

Students of St. Bastlide’s Technical Institute according to the School’s PTA were issued notices to pay a Development Levy of Ghc350, an Amount Of Ghc400 is supposed to be paid into the School’s PTA Account before or on arrival of each student admitted to the Technical Institution under the Ghana TVET Service. In all a Student or Parent is expected to pay a s of Ghc800 before or during arrival per a letter dated 27th November 2023.
