The Turn of events are getting interesting in Lawra Municipality after the Assembly Member Elections were held on the 19th of December 2023.

Though Assembly Member Elections are devoid of Politics per the constitution,it’s how ever empirical that some group of people contest secretly with political affiliations.

During the Assembly Member Elections, there were several unexplained Developments including not using indelible ink after voting, some Machines were also malfunctioning According to CODEO Election Observers.

29 Assembly Members were elected in Lawra Municipality and out of 29, 23 are affiliated to the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) 79.30% whilst 6 Are Affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) which is 20.70%.

The Electoral Areas Occupied by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Members include:

Danko, Boo, Dazuuri, Naburnye, Baazin/Lyssah, Tampuori, Zambo, Zambo Kpee, Zinkaa/Yagtuuri, Dowine, Kalsagri, Lawra Zongo, Eremon Naayir, Tampie/Gbengbee, Nanyaare, Bagri, Tanchara, Babile, Baapaare, Tuori, Brifoh, Kunyukuo/Kumasaal and Tolibri.

Those Reportedly Affiliated to the New Patriotic Party per Statistics Available to Us Are:

Naangagn, Gbiel/Kuoli, Naayirbong, Zoopaal,Yikpee and Yagrpelle.
