The Member of Parliament for the Wa West Constituency, Superintendent (Rtd) Peter Lanchene Toobu, has urged chiefs to reside in their respective traditional areas so that they may be recognized by their people.
According to him, when chiefs reside in their traditional areas, it will also prevent conflicts between the chiefs and their people. Mr Lanchene made these remarks while speaking at Vieri during the Daga-Wiile Seeonta Boor celebration.
He emphasized that chiefs must be welcoming to strangers and respectful to the people they are ruling, to ensure the development of their areas.
Mr Lanchene suggested that chiefs should make their chieftaincy successors transparent to avoid conflict related to chieftaincy.
The Wa West Constituency MP also called on the people, especially Daga-Wiile in the Wa West District, to respect and honor their chefs.
