Mr. Moses Luri has penned down a disheartening message about Sissala West District after it’s Seventh DCE was ousted on 2nd February 2024.
Good morning brethren, yesterday was another sad day in the history of Sissala West and by extension the entire Sisaala people. I woke up to the news of another Dismissal of a DCE, the fifth Dismissal in a yong district of only 20 years with 7 former DCEs.
Hon. Madah of Blessed Memory was the first appointed and Dismissed DCE, Hon. Naliwie the Second Appointed DCE, Hon. Baka of blessed memory the third appointed and Dismissed DCE, Hon. Luri, the Fourth appointed and Dismissed DCE, Hon. Bukari, the Fifth appointed DCE, Hon. Bakor, the Sixth appointed and Dismissed DCE and Hon. Ayisha, the Seventh appointed and DISMISSED DCE. The District was created in 2004 by LI1771.
For our records and reflections, what are we not getting right? The wrong persons appointed or the wrong appointers? The wrong leaders appointed or the wrong follower? The wrong rulers or the wrong ruled?
Whatever your answers are, my answer is, there is something wrong with the entire people of Sissala West.
Think about it. No single DCE has completed the Four-year tenure of Office in Sissala West ever. What are the implications of this? Negatives.
Five Dismissed DCEs, with Two who could not complete their tenures due to change of their governments; Hon. Nalwie and Hon. Bukari. The negative effects of these developments are disaster.
There is no institutional memory, unaccomplished missions, no experience leaders but only experimental DCEs, insecurity of the appointees, anxiety of the appointees as there is no peace of mind to focus on the job and therefore retired development of the district among others.
I am calling on the Traditional Authorities, the leadership of well meaning Sisaala Development Unions, Networks or Associations to stand up. It Is Very Sad! Anyone who has the development of Sissala West and Sisaala people must be sad. Hon. Forkor, in waiting must be wiping, no need to be jubilant, you will soon be Vulnerable! There is political Insecurity in Sissala West District awaiting you.
This must be a worry to all. Sisaala Development Network (SiNET), Sisaala Union(SU), Sisaala Youth Forum(SYF), Isɔɔ West Development Union(IWDU) must, as a matter of agency be worried about this. Our Traditional Authorities must be worried as well.
I recommend a research into the causes and impact of the rampant DISMISSALS on the development of the district and the way forward. Noone must jubilate. It is very sad.
Note, there is no school for learning the work of a DCE. It is learnt on the job. All the DCEs learn by experiments by the time they are gaining experience and perfection, they are dismissed or their government is voted out.
This is the main problem of the underdevelopment of the district. Sissala West has very bad roads, poor health facilities including a well deserved District Hospital, very poor Educational infrastructure, inadequate access to SHSs, Poor access to network, underserved potable water system for the entire district, no technical or vocational training institution for the Youth, high rate of unemployment and no well develope market and industry for commerce among others
Hon. Moses Dramani Luri
