In October 2021, a Presiding Member for Jirapa Municipality geared for his life after he was accused of meddling in political activities that sought to deprive the past DCE of the Assembly’s Endorsement after Madam Christine Amadu was nominated as MCE for Jirapa.

The Issue of Assassination and threats to Assassinate didn’t begin today in Jirapa. The Threats were issued few months Before a Lawyer from the Area, Lawyer Richard Badombie, who doubled as Assembly Member for Kunkyene by then was later Assassinated in May 2022, Seven months after the Presiding Member was threatened.

The Presiding Member for Jirapa Assembly,  Hon. Ebenezer Ayemah has stated that some group of people have threatened to take his life after the Confirmation of MMDCE elections in Jirapa today.

The Presiding Member made a panic statement in a whatsapp group calling for people to note that once people hear of him no more then he has been killed. His post was typed today 11th October 2021 at 7:58pm.

Several people have responded to his statement directing him to draw the attention of the police and the media to the development.

There was a second round of elections in Jirapa to either Confirm Madam Christine Bombanye Amadu or Not.

The Result for the second round Was as follows,  Yes = 31 NO = 20 Rejected = 1,  the Nominee Needed at least 35 Votes to be confirmed.
