A Former Minister for Public Private Partnership, Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo has expressed dismay with how an Entrepreneur from the Upper West Region, Mr. Eric Johnson was Murdered in Jirapa on 10th of February 2024 under questionable circumstances.

Expressing his concerns today, 13th of February 2024, Dr. Pelpuo indicated that crime rate and it’s orchestration has become scary within the Country and has to be checked by State Institutions.

“In this part of the world it’s shocking. Never believe out of hate someone will take a knife and hurt you so badly to your death. Your huge investment in the lives of people is also hurt. Can’t believe this big factory of yours under construction will come to a halt”.

Three People have been Assassinated in Jirapa Municipality from 2020 Till Date. First, it was a mobile Money Vendor who was shot dead whilst carrying out his business on the streets of Jirapa, Secondly, An Assembly Member of Kunkyene in Jirapa Municipality was also Murdered near Nuoyiri on the 28th of May 2022, Lastly, Eric John was also Murdered in Hos Room on the 10th of February 2024. Meanwhile, a Presiding Member for Jirapa Assembly on 11th October 2021, Hon. Ayemah Ebenezer Complained of Threats on his Life after Kicking against the Endorsement of Madam Christine Amadu who was appointed and Needed to be confirmed as MCE for the Area.
