Reports from Jirapa FM’s Marcelinus Mwinsagra has revealed that Cattle have Of Some Fulani herdsmen have destroyed Farm Produce in Mwankuri-Balanta, a Suburb of Jirapa Municipality located in the Wa-Tumu-Han Road.

Plant, Crop Farmers have called for peaceful coexistence between themselves and Animal Farmers in the Area and have also called for Authorities to intervene.

“Several time so have always told them, when you move about with your cattle, ensure they do come near our farm lands, I have always communicated with them but they still repeat the same mistakes and this is costly to farmers into the yam trade here, mostly on market days, when they know we aren’t around, what they do is that they allow their cattle to destroy our mangoes and uproot our yam, once the ysm is exposed ti the sun, it’ll get rotten…”

Fulanis and cattle has been destroying yam farms in Mwankuri -Balanta. speaking to the media, Mr Isaac Naah, a Farmer in the Area said, that the fulanis and cattle go to the farm on market days and on Sunday. On these days farmers do not go to farm. According to him, he said that the fulanis use pointed sticks to dig the contours of the yams. The cattle will use their horns to push down the plants of the yams.
