A Researcher and a Socialist has praised decision by Wa Naa to place a ban of sale of Government Lands in the Wa Municipality. He made the Statements after the Waala Traditional Council Issued a Statement on Friday 5th of April 2024.

In the Letter Copied to the Lands Commission, The Overlord of Waala Traditional Area, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV placed an Embargo in Sale of School Lands around Napogbakole and Tendamba Primary School Sections.

Traditional leadership remains very critical in our community development initiative. From pre- colonial times to colonial administrations and post independence era, we continue to recognise our Traditional leadership. I have always not feel satisfied with the conduct and participation of our Traditional leadership in our nation building discourse.Many have remain mutes when greedy characters gets political power and are looting and sharing. This open day thievery of selling government acquired or state lands and actioning of vehicles to politicians and their sorigate in our Upper West Region is shameful. There is no one to lead many of the youth who are demanding accountability.

The Traditional institutions have remain silent because a lot of thievery regarding the capture of state land in our dear region has become a norm.I am particularly happy that the office of the overlord is showing leadership; this act of greedy must stop.While l acknowledge the Traditional council let me recommend that; the council should demand full disclosure and state of government acquired land and it intended purpose; in an instance where the purpose of acquisition is not met, process can begin to return the land to it owners.Let me further recommend that some land acquired compensation might have not been given, so it is also important to engage the land commission and appropriate agencies to resolve all these.There are certain areas and some government bungalows that have been sold to politicians and sorigates; an urgent inquiry needs to be carried out.Let support the overlord in showing this leadership.
