The former assemblyman for Dupari Electoral Area in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region, Ahmed Nurideen Ajansumah has petitioned the Overlord of the Wala Traditional Council, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV and other stakeholders in the Upper West Region over what he claims to illegal payments in National Health Insurance Authority accredited healthcare facilities in the region.

In his petition dated April 3, 2024, Mr Ajansumah noted that “it has now become a common knowledge to everybody in this region that there has been a rising issue of illegal payments within the various NHIA credentialed health facilities in the municipality, which is seriously disrupting the operations of the scheme.”
