The Wa District Court has presided over a murder case involving on Suspect reported to have been involved in the murder of Alhaji Mutala Mahama at Suriyiri, a suburb of Wa.

The first hearing was on 15th of April 2024 between the Republic and Adaalee.
The Republic vs Abdul Halim Yahaya (Suuriyiri Murder Case)Case adjourned to 13th May, 2024.
The Case has been Adjourned to Monday, 13th of May 2024.
The man, believed to be in his early 50s was found dead in a pool of blood in his room with multiple deep cuts on his neck suspected to have been inflicted on him by some unknown assailants.
The exact cause and time of the gruesome killing of the late Alhaji Mutala Mahama are unknown but some inhabitants of the Suriyiri community in Wa say the late Mutala was found dead with deep knife wounds suspected to have been the cause of his death.
Until his gruesome murder, the late Alhaji Mutala was the secretary of the customary land secretariat in Wa.
