Assembly Member for Kulkpong Electoral Area, Hon. Diayiri J. Philip has expressed worry with some setbacks in his Electoral Area.Speaking to Upper West Media Team at Bulee No. 1 in the Kulkpong Electoral Area, the Assembly Member expressed worry that during the Rainy season, their Children especially in eight Communities including Bulee No. 1, Bulee No.2, Kandige, Dolisa, Buuriyiri, Taambilipuo, Kpakpalaa Puo will not be able to continue with education till the rains are over.He gave details that, there are rivers that prevent children in those communities from traveling to where their school is located, Kulkpong.

He added that the development affects the children and their performance in school since most of these students miss about 6 Months of Active Education and end up in the farm or idling because they can’t cross rivers.He added that Men and Women will also be limited from accessing some social amenities including healthcare centers, Kulkpong Market, A Very busy Market due to those rivers.

“..We have only Wa Market, Kulkpong Market, But because the Electoral Area is large from Kandige, Bulee No. 1 and 2, Dolisa, they all have something to do in the market But they can’t come there during the rainy season, same with Traveling for healthcare services, for six Months, people will not be able to cross rivers to Kulkpong, people even suffer blood shortage during these periods..

“He called for the Wa East District Assembly Headed by Dr. Ewura Kandia Sulemana to construct Bridges in affected areas to enable students and families in those areas to be able to travel.
