
Daffiama SHS in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District of Upper West Region has Recorded a remarkable 100% in WASSCE Performance 2023, this is the fifth time the school has recorded such a performance.
In a Statement read by the School’s Headmaster, Mr. Osbert Dambia During the School’s Third Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony, He indicated that it was due to Relentless efforts by management and other Stakeholders.

He assured Stakeholders that the Results will continue to improve year after year if the needed support is made available for the school to run including Well furnished classrooms, A Running School bus and supporting vehicles for Administration to use, Teachers for some key subject areas including Physics should be provided.

Mr. Osbert Salifu Dambia , The Headmaster revealed plans by Management to introduce Visual Arts as a Program of Study in the School.
He Sought for financial support to Renovate storey buildings serving as classrooms for students indicating that with an amount of Ghc64,560, the buildings can be renovated.


Donations were made to that effect during the School’s 3rd Speech and Prize Giving Day and an Amount of Ghc829.70p was mobilized.
The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency Dr. Sebastian Sandaare Pledged to Support the School with 100 Bags of Cement for the Renovation.

The Daffiama Senior High School was established on the 28″ January, 199l with 29 students and three teachers. The first Headmaster was Mr. James Galle Angzagra.
Naa Chairman it’s a unique honor and opportunity that I have today and I salute with all the humility in my heart all former Headmasters who straggled to grow this school what I came and met. God bless your endeavours in lives and keep the soul of Mr. Abu Wanluu closer to his kingdom.
Naa Chairman I further use this opportunity to welcome every one here to the environment of Daffiama Senior High School.
Let me sadly inform you that on the 8th April 2024 we lost our Senior House Mistress and Science teacher, Madam Abebe Martina.
She was buried on the 1 June, 2024 at Eremon Naburinye. May her soul rest with God. Naa Chairman permit me at this point to give some school statistics.

KEY ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
1. Bought and fixed new TV for students
2. Bought a new pushing truck for conveying of students food.3. Extended water to all dormitories with some polytanks
4. Relocated and renovated the staff common room into the main campus
5. Relocated and renovated the accountant office
6. Renovated the Headmasters office
7. Fixed 16 LED Street Lamps 13 donated by the Hon. DCE and 3 donated by thePM for Jirapa Municipal Assembly Hon. Benedict.
8. Bought some equipment for sports
9. Bought and fixed 10 white boards and 10 white graph boards.
10.Planted mango and ornamental seedlings on the compound
11.Got additional teachers through the Regional and District Directors of Education
12.Have two school gardens that feed our students with vegetables through out the year.
13.Re-roofed the 3- unit classroom block that was roofed off by rain storm, the zinc was donated by the Hon. District Chief Executive.

17.Renovated the Toyota pickup which had an accident. The Member of Parliament supported with the funds.
18.Introduce and successfully run the professional learning community (PLC) in the school.

20.Connected water into Headmasters bungalow and erected a water over head tank

INTENDED/WORK PLAN
1. Create and operate a Quality Assurance and graduate tracking unite
2. Add the History of Daffiama to the orientation programme of 1″ years
3. Work to introduce visual Art progamme in the school
4. Continue with extras classes for form three.
CHALLENGES AND WAY FORWARD
1. Indiscipline Naa Chairman, indiscipline within some staff and some students is still a challenge since we are in a human institution, thus absenteeism, truancy, unprofessional conduct, breaking boundaries, stealing, destroying school property and intrusion by outsider.Management have however put in stiffer monitoring and supervisory mechanisms such as replacement of items, counseling, punishments, signing of Bounds etc. to handle these incidences of indiscipline
2. Insufficient staff
Naa Chairman, let me thank both Regional and District Directors of Education for releasing to the school some critical subject teachers.
It’s also prudent to add that we need some additional teachers since the school student population has increased. There is also the critical need for non-teaching staff in security, pantry, cooks and others.
The school still do not have a physics teacher.Infrastructure and Facility Needs.Naa Chairman, we need the following infrastructure and facilities serious to enhance further, the academic development of the school.
1. An Administration Block since the establishment of the school in 1991
2. A story Building classroom block to accommodate the increasing number of students
3. A school bus for students educational trips.
4. A school pickup for administrative purposes since what we have are very old and the break downs and maintenance are rampant and consuming the limited finances of the school

8. Computers for students ICT and administrative work
9. Sports equipment
