
On Saturday, July 13th, the Wa Central Youth Wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) embarked on a cleanup exercise at the Wa Municipal Hospital as part of their campaign efforts leading up to the December 7th general elections. Hospital staff and Zoomlion Ghana joined the Elephant youth in this initiative.

Mr. Alhassan Bomansang, Deputy Administrative Director of the hospital, expressed gratitude for the Elephant youth’s intention to assist with the cleanup, noting that while the hospital environment was generally in good condition, the exercise served as a beneficial refresher. He emphasized that the hospital staff remain politically neutral and would welcome support from any party or group.
He also highlighted how the cleanup, along with the accompanying entertainment, positively affected the atmosphere for patients, staff, and their families, thanking the Elephant Youth Wing on behalf of everyone at the hospital.
Hon. Abdul Fatawu, the Wa Central Youth Organizer, spoke on behalf of the Elephant Youth Wing, stating that the NPP values cleanliness and environmental health.
He explained that the youth wing felt it essential to clean the Municipal Hospital, particularly the Children’s and Maternity wards, which are vital to the community’s well-being. This effort is part of their action plan to give back to society and strengthen the party’s connection to the Wa Central Constituency.
He also expressed appreciation to the party’s regional and constituency leaders, as well as the parliamentary candidate, Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu, for their support, and commended the youth and Zoomlion for their dedication to the event.
Mr. Suleman Mohammed, known as Kweku Baako, a party communicator and youth activist, noted that the cleanup goals were met, with significant progress visible in the cleared areas and cleaned wards.
He praised the Elephant Youth Wing for their effective work and highlighted the lasting impact of the initiative.
