One of the Public Universities in Upper West Region, Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University has rusticated 37 Students for Engaging in Exam Malpractices.

A Letter Released on Friday 23rd August 2024 and Pasted at the Lecture Theater of The University outlined the Students, their Department and study Level.

The students are expected to reapply or return after an Academic Year.

One Level 200 Student of Accounting Department, Two HND Students of Procurement and Supply Department, 11 Top Up Students of Procurement and Supply Chain Management Department, Four Students Pursuing HND in Building Technology, One Offering B.Tech Top-Up in Building Technology, One Student Offering Fashion Design and Technology, A Student from Civil Engineering Department, Five HND Students from Electrical and Electronics Department, One Student Offering B.Tech in Hospitality and Catering Management, Three Students Offering B.Tech in I.T, Three HND Students Pursuing ICT, Two Students Offering Mechanical Engineering and One Student Offering HND in Dispensary Technology.

According to the University’s Students Handbook.

5.0 MISCONDUCT OF STUDENTS

It shall be misconduct for a Junior Member Student of the Polytechnic.(i) To be absent from lectures and other prescribed assignments without permission or reasonable excuse.(ii) To be insubordinate.(iii) To indulge in any anti-social activities (while in residence or outside the campus) which tend to bring the Polytechnic into disrepute)(iv) To involve in any examination irregularities.(v) To be in unauthorized possession of Polytechnic property.6.0(vi) To provide unauthorized information about the Polytechnic to the media and/or other agencies.

PENALTIES

A student who is deemed to be in breach of discipline may be liable toone or more of the following penalties: A warning ii. A reprimand iii. A fine iv. Suspension from the use of the Polytechnic services or facilities for as stated period.

V. Requirement to make good to the satisfaction of the Polytechnic any damage or injury caused to the property of the Polytechnic Or an institution attended as a part of a Polytechnic programme.

iv. Rustication for a stated period.

V. Withdrawal from the Polytechnic for examinations malpractices.

vi. Expulsion from the Polytechnic.vii. Penalties iv-viii are major by the Registry.penalties and shall be applied by registrar on the expressed directive of the Rector.
