A cross section of Men and Women have expressed concern after a Dam Established About 30 Years Ago by a Native of the Area, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu spilled and Broke its Banks.

Speaking to Assembly Member of the Area by Name Hon. Mohammed Awal, He indicated that Some Heavy Rains Recorded on the 31st of August 2024, resulted in The Natural Disaster.

He added that, the Heavy Rain resulted in the Dam’s Spillage into Farms, He went further to state that, the Severe water pressure from the Dam destroyed parts of their roads with the Stretch from Goripie to Bulenga Badly Affected.

“..The rains Affected us, the Adam couldn’t hold the water so most parts of it spilled whilst the banks stretched, so the water was able to break away, We have Called on Stakeholders to Assist Us, the National Disaster Management Organization(NADMO) was here to assess the situation..”.

Goripie is a Farming community in the Wa East District of Upper West Region.
