A Community in the Wa East District Known as Goripie has been faced with some level of economic Setback after a crocodile engineered a dam Spillage in the community.

According some residents speaking to Upper West Media Team, the crocodile is harbored in the dam and created a path in a form of a hole, the residents explained that the hole collapsed as a result of pressure from the Water levels which rose as a result of the Rain on 31st of August 2024.

The Development forced an Erosion and water spilled into Gardens, farms and destroyed food items including Yam at Nearby Communities including Jankori No.1.

Roads in Goripie was also partly washed Away by the Flood but lives were spared Assembly Member for the Area, Mr. Mohammed Awal, Expressed Concern about the Disaster and Called for Stakeholders to Assist in Fixing the Dam, their Affected Road and to support farmers in reducing their losses.
