On the 13th of September 2024, a report Gathered by Radio Progress through Mr. Albert Jortee revealed that two suspected cases of monkey Pox virus were recorded in Vieri and Ponyentanga communities both in the Wa West District of Upper West Region.

According to Mr. Benjamin Naapon in Charge of Kukpali, a Health center under Dorimon Sub District of Ghana Health Service, He confirmed the News to Radio Progress.

One person from Vieri and another from Poyentanga communities in the Wa West district of the upper region are suspected of contracting monkey pox disease.

Confirming the information to radio progress news in an exclusive interview, the in charge of the Kupkali heath center under the Dorimon Sub-district of the Ghana health services, Mr. Benjamin Naapon said that, it is important for everybody to be watchful of what we eat from the wild, because the disease is transmitted from animals like monkeys to humans.# radioprogress
