The Sissala East Municipal Assembly Has Successfully selected a Presiding Member on the 25th of September 2024 after after a consensus.

This was after several failed attempts to elect a Presiding Member for prolific assembly proceedings.In an opening address by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Fuseini Batong Yakubu, he stated that, the inability of the Assembly to have a Presiding member is impeding the development,growth and effective work of the Assembly.

We are almost at the end of the third quarter and we will be compiling the budget for next year hence, having a PM today will do us a lot of great service.According to Sissala Radio in Tumu,After the first round of voting, the Assemble failed to elect a PM.

1 Marifa Alhassan Huaru-92

Mustapha Borsumua Gurumo-19

Valid votes cast-28

Rejected Votes-1

Total-29

However, Hon. Mustapha Borsumua Gurimo has been acclaimed as the presiding member of the Sissala East Municipal Assembly.

This came after Hon. Marifah Alhassan Huaru withdrew his decision to contest for the position following hours of negotiations.
