The New Patriotic Party NPP ha suspended it’s Constituency Women’s Organizer Incharge of Wa Central Constituency over misconduct.
The Decision was taken in a letter dated 1st October 2024 and signed by Mr. Mumuni Abass Sidik, Constituency Secretary of the Party.
The Decision According to the Secretary was made in accordance to Article (3)(7)(1) of the NPP’s Constitution.
“This decision is made in accordance with Article 3(7)(1) of the NPP Constitution, which empowers the Constituency Executive Committee to suspend any officer who misconducts himself/herself or shows intransigence pending an enquiry
by the disciplinary Committee.”
According to the Letter, Madam Takoradi Attawa showed gross disrespect, Insubordination and intransigence towards the Constituency executive committee.
“The restraining order is served on you as a result of your consistent display of gross disrespect, insubordination,
and intransigence towards the Constituency Executive Committee and the Party’s leadership. Despite numerous warnings and attempts to address these issues, your behavior has continued to undermine the unity and progress of our Constituency.”
She has been restricted from Engaging in Activities pertaining to the party or attending party meetings.
“During this restraining period, you will not be permitted to perform any duties related to your office or attend
meetings of the Constituency Executive Committee”.
The Secretary, Mumuni Abass Sidik indicated that upon sober reflection on her attitude the suspension can be lifted.
“We expect you to reflect on your actions and consider the impact they have had on the Party. We hope that upon your return, you will demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively and respectfully with the Constituency
Executive Committee.”
The Letter Indicated that the decision by the Constituency committee can be reviewed at the Regional level.
“Please note that this restrain is subject to review by the Regional Executive Committee, as stipulated in NPP Constitution. Any further incidents of misconduct may lead to more severe disciplinary action, up to and including removal from office”.
