The NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to establish a Farmers Service Centre in the Wa East District.

Speaking during mini rallies at Goripie and Funsi as part of his three-day tour of the Upper West Region, the NDC’s flag-bearer emphasized the importance of agriculture in the district and and Ghana as a whole, and promised to support farmers by providing them with the necessary resources and infrastructure to improve their agricultural practices.

In addition, Mahama promised to regularize illegal mining to a small-scale mining in the district to ensure sustainable mining as Wa East is one of the mining districts in the Upper West Region.

He assured residents that proper regulations would be put in place to ensure that mining activities are conducted in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.

John Mahama also urged the people of Wa East to vote massively for him and the incumbent MP, Dr Seidu Jasaw, in the upcoming elections.

The announcement of the Farmers Service Centre and Small-Scale Mining regulation was met with enthusiasm and thunderous applause from the mammoth crowd, who sees it as a positive step towards economic growth and improved livelihoods in the district.
