Former President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled an ambitious plan to boost farming activities in Ghana. As part of his campaign tour in the Upper West region, he announced that every district will receive 15 tractors to support the Farmer Service Centre program.
This initiative aims to enhance socio-economic growth by increasing productivity for internal consumption and export.
Key Components of the Farmer Service Centre Program:
15 Tractors per District: To improve production and efficiency in farming
Farming Inputs on Credit: Ploughs, fertilizers, weedicides, and harvestors will be provided to farmers through cooperatives
Increased Productivity: Focus on enhancing productivity for both internal consumption and export
Types of Tractors Suitable for the Program:
Compact Tractors: Ideal for small-scale farming and tight spaces
Wheeled Tractors: Versatile and suitable for various farming tasks
Track Tractors: Designed for challenging tasks with minimal slippage and rutting.
Mahama’s proposal demonstrates the National Democratic Congress’s commitment to prioritizing farming activities and supporting Ghana’s agricultural sector.
By providing essential resources and equipment, the party aims to empower farmers and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
