Donate to help my parents rebuild after devastating fire
Dear friends and kind-hearted supporters,
I’m writing this with a heavy heart, as my parents (Cecilia Kakariba & John Kaemabo Bataebo), who live in Wa, Upper West Region of Ghana, West Africa, just lost their home in a devastating fire and are now homeless.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the unimaginable happened: their house was engulfed in flames, and while they managed to escape, they lost everything except the cloths on their backs.
What makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking is that when they called the local fire department for help, they were told they did not have fuel in their trucks. My mom and dad watched helplessly as the fire engulfed the house. The house is completely destroyed as well as all their possessions.
My parents are the kindest and most hardworking people I know, always there to lend a hand to others in need. Now, they find themselves in a position where they need help to find a place to stay. They’ve lost not only their home but also irreplaceable memories.
We’re raising funds to give them a chance to regain some sense of normalcy after this tragedy. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in helping them get back on their feet.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can provide. Even if you’re unable to donate, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to us.
With gratitude,
Sonia
