During a 2nd Annual Review Conference, The Upper West Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Osman Kanihi through his fund has been able to Mobilize a cash amount of Ghc45,025 at the Upper West Regional Library During a Donation and Revenue Mobilization exercise held on the 26th of October 2024, in order to support Brilliant But Needy children willing to further their education in Tertiary Institutions.

The Occasion had several Dignitaries present including The Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Issahaku Tahiru Moomin, the Upper West Regional Minister, Mr. Stephen Yakubu, NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr. Osuman Hamid, Deputy Regional Secretary of NDC, Alhaji Nurah Danwanaah, Dr. Abdulai Darimani, a Guest Speaker and many others.

Several Pledges were made valued at Ghc40,000. The Municipal Chief Executive Assured that Ghc5000 shall be made Available from the Wa Assembly to the fund on Monday, 28th of October 2024, He gave out Ghc3,000 specifying that Ghc2,000 was from his Sachet Water Company A1 Water Company and Ghc1,000 from himself. CEO of Anitika Company Ltd, Alhaji Antiku Abdulai Made a Donation of Ghc10,000 to the fund.

Upper West Regional Minister Made a Donation of Ghc5,000. Several mosques and Islamic Religious groups Accross the Upper West Region made donations. Catholic Community in Wa Donated Ghc500. Dr. Abdulai Darimani, a Guest Speaker Donated Ghc20,000.

ACTIVITIES OF THE FUND

EDUCATION SUPPORT

A total of Forty Five (45) students across tertiary institutions were supported with an amount GHC110,899.79 to pay their fees and in some cases accommodation. Two of these beneficiaries are on full scholarships. Currently in their third years. One offering law and the other nursing.

PARTNERSHIP

Fatima Farida, an Islamic Education Complex gave the fund five slots to fill in needy but brilliant students. This was done and one of the student has since graduated by writing the BECE 2024 exams.

Discussions are currently on-going with the Zakat and Sadaqa fund for possible collaborations.
