Government of Ghana has made available Machines including Tipper Trucks, Graders for Road construction Works to be carried out in various Constituencies Accross the country.

In the Wa Municipality, roads are yet to be set up after the Wa Assembly Successfully constructed roads in some influential areas including Charia, Jonga, Wonnuo, Kambali, Nakore few months ago before these machines were introduced.

People of Danko have called on The Wa Municipal Assembly to fix their road else they shall boycott this year’s elections.

Five Areas the Wa Municipal Assembly Can Set Up Roads to improve Mobility of close to 200,700 Residents.

1. Kpongu-Nyuglu-Kparisaga-Piisi

Piisi Community is fast Developing because of the UTAG Village Established in the Area, the Piisi market is one of the Lucrative markets in Wa however there are no alternative roots to Piisi except through the Hilla Limann Highway to Bamahu or through the Wa Kumasi Road. This has limited mobility of people around Nakore, Kpongu, Chansa, Kpongu, Gurimuni etc to and from the Piisi Market.

2. Gurimuni-Kpongu Road

The Area Needs a Road according to Residents who came out to work on the Road few weeks ago in October,the residents stated that their road was established in 2004 but has been abandoned since then.

Gurimuni is close to the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) and could Serve as an area to set up Hostels for students.

3. DHLTU- Nakore -Kpongu

A Road linking these places wouldn’t only be economical but will also support real estate developers to establish Hostels to improve Student intake at the Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University.

4. Mangu-Aahiyoo-Charia Road.
   Establishing a Road to these areas will enhance mobility considering the fact that there is a market along the Charia road, there are several residents there and setting up a road there will also assist estate developers with a definite plan to invest in the area.

5. Kumbiehi-Wa Magazine Engineering Workshop

This is one area that needs an accessible road to ease pressure on the Wa-Tumu-Guli Road in order to minimize accidents. Setting Up a road in this area will create room for ulterative road and also give estate developers a clear plan to invest in the area.

6. Kpongu-Bamahu

These two communities host two influential Universities in Wa Municipality and at least a road linking the two communities will improve businesses there and assist estate developers to build more Hostels and business facilities to foster development.

Road Infrastructure is necessary for movement of goods and services, establishing them will pave way for development.
