After the December 2020 General Elections, I was marveled at the outcome of results in some Constituencies in Upper West Region.

The Region has 11 Constituencies and pit of the 11, Wa Central is the Most Populated followed by Wa West Constituency.

Several people have advocated for Wa Central to be made a metropolitan, this requires a Population of 250,000. Several people believe Wa has attained that Population after it recorded 200,672 in 2021, about 3 years ago.

The Overlord of Waala Traditional Area, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV Appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to convert Wa into metropolitan.

Some Residents of Wa Have called for Significant development with some demanding for the Wa Central Constituency to be divided into at least two Constituencies.

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for 2020, Hajia Humu Awudu Polled a Vote of 33,340 which is 45.43%, yet couldn’t get the mandate into Parliament. Some other Lawmakers had votes far below that vote Margin in 2020.
