Upper West Regional Minister Designate, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing has today, 4th February 2025 been Approved by Parliament as Regional Minister and Chairman of Upper West Regional Coordinating and Security Council.

He Takes Over from Hon. Stephen Yakubu, Outgone Upper West Regional Minister under erstwhile Nana Akufo-Addo Administration.

Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing is a practicing Lawyer and an alumnus of University of Ghana. He serves also as Upper West Regional Secretary of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

On 31st January 2025, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing was Vetted by Parliament and these are some of the key statements he made.

1. We will use the available DRIP Machines from the MMDCES to Rehabilitate the Roads and make them motorable

2.Regarding Roads, We will Do Periodic Road Maintenance, Rehabilitation of our roads whilst we continue to plead with central government to fix the major rods for us

3.The Road Network: The Entire Upper West Roads are Deplorable it Doesn’t connect to any of the other Regions therefore, commuting on those roads is a disaster, that is one of the major issues we face in Upper West Region.

3.Empowerment of the Youth:

Virtually our young man and women have all resorted to being part of Betting, because they think that’s the only livelihood of success, we need to empower them.

4.Abandoned Projects:

We have several abandoned projects in the Upper West Region which when completed will enhance education and health Facilities but all these projects have been abandoned.

5.When I get the nod to become Regional Minister, the first and foremost thing is to encourage and create job opportunities for our youth that keeps all of us within the region.
