A Candidate of Just Ended council of State Elections has tagged Assembly Members serving as delegates to be corrupt after he alleged that some assembly Members received as much as Ghc12,000 from Candidates before taking a decision.
Speaking to Upper West Media Team on Tuesday, 18th February 2025, the complainant indicated that a Chief gave Ghc5,000 pledging that after the elections he would go to the bank to add Ghc10,000 to what he had made available to delegates (Assembly Men).
He continued that the Chief in question lost woefully adding that another chief From the Sissala Enclave gave 12,000 to each delegate.
He condemned the questionable criteria in Choosing two Assembly Members out of the many from each district, questioning how each district take srhe decision since there are.eno laid down plans for choosing an assembly Member out of the many. He alleged that some of the Assembly Members were shortlisted and submitted by NDC to the Electoral Commission as delegates.
Mr. Michael Kwame Mumuni was winner of the election with 8 Votes out of 22 in Upper West Region.
