Several parts of Wa have been disconnected from Access power since early hours of Wednesday, 19th February 2025.

This has raised eyebrows in parts of Wa with people concerned about it’s Health implications on areas including Sombo, Kambali, Wapaani, Dankpalihi etc.

There hasn’t been any official notice to Upper West Media Team before the lights were taken away.

Amidst the meningitis outbreak in Parts of Upper West Region, excessive heat in rooms due to absence of electricity could expose several people to the health condition being managed by the Ghana Health service.

On 17th of February 2025, NLA donated GH¢100K to help fight CSM outbreak in Upper West.

The speaker of Parliament , Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin Also Donated Medicines to the Upper West Regional Health Directorate.

So far, 14 lives have currently been lost, with over 70 cases diagnosed.
