The Volta River Authority has taken away power from several parts of Wa including Kambali, Wapaani, Sombo etc since early morning, 19th February 2025.

The Volta River Authority blamed the Issue on a Faulty Feeder Cable.

“VRA/NEDCo wishes to inform its cherished customers that it has suffered multiple HT line faults on one of its main feeders. As a result, a number of areas in Wa central all the way to Wechiau and its environs are off.”

We acknowledge the recent power outages affecting parts of Wa due to electrical faults. Our engineers from VRA/NEDCo have been working tirelessly to restore supply and have made significant progress. However, the fault tracing process has caused intermittent outages, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Our technical teams are facing serious challenges due to encroachment under high-tension lines and roofing structures built too close to electric poles, making it difficult and risky to climb and carry out necessary repairs but not withstanding,
Engineers are working round the clock to fully restore power.
Additional teams have been deployed to speed up repairs.
Fault tracing is ongoing, and we will minimize disruptions where possible.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to ensure a stable electricity supply.

VRA/NEDCo Management.
