The people of Gandawi in the Pulma Traditional Area on Saturday, 22nd February 2025 commemorated the annual Gandawii Naabahilme festival at Sorbelle in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region.

This vibrant week-long celebration showcases the rich cultural heritage of the traditional area, marking the culmination of the farming season and expressing gratitude to the gods for a bountiful harvest.

Throughout the festival, the community comes together to indulge in a plethora of exciting activities, steeped in tradition and merriment, highlighting the unique customs and traditions of the Gandawii people.

This year’s celebration is under the theme: “harnessing our cultural heritage for unity and sustainable development”.
