The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) today March 15, 2025
handed over a cheque of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND (GHC100,000) to miss Ashida Nyasu a
nurse stationed at the Tumu Municipal Hospital in the Upper West Region.
In a short handing over ceremony in Accra, the Greater Accra Regional PRO Mr. David Sam and
the Korle Bu District Vice chairman Mr. Alhassan Haruna on behalf of the National President
Madam Perpetual Ofori Ampofo presented the cheque to miss Ashida and her Husband at Korle
Bu where she is currently undergoing dialysis. This is to assist her undergo a planned kidney
transplant in India.
Mss. Ashida and the husband were very much grateful to the association “ dear Ghana
registered Nuses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), im writing to express my deepest
gratitude for the financial support you provided me during my time of need. Your support has
not only alleviated some of the financial burdens I faced, but it has also given me hope and
renewed my spirit. Im thankful for the kindness, compassion and commitment to the
wellbeing of your members that GRNMA has demonstrated”
On behalf of all the nurses and midwives in the Sissala East Municipal, I Hon. Bentor (Municipal
chairman) while wishing our colleague speedy recovering we can not thank less the madam
Perpetual Ofori Ampofo led administration for the institution of this life saving policy (GRNMA
Health Fund) among others.
While I will also take the opportunity to charge the employer to initiate and or intensify annual
comprehensive medical screening for all nurses and midwives as captured in our COS, I will
encourage the later to take your health into your own hands, by checking what we eat and
engaging in health lifestyle.
