On the 31st of March 2025, the Muslim Community in Upper West and Other Parts of the World observed Eid Prayers known as Eid Fitr at the BK Adama Youth Resource Center.
The Upper West Regional Minister was expected to be present to Celebrate the Holy Occasion with Muslims in the Region but he wasn’t present.
Speaking to the Upper West Regional Minister, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing, he explained that his absence was as a result of some projects he was lobbying for in order for the region to be a beneficiary.
He was speaking in an engagement with North-West Soyabean Value Chain Association on the 2nd of April 2025.
Statement from Upper West Regional Minister
For me, as I said, I keep saying that the only thing I can do is to lead the groups. And I know everyone would have known that since I took over. I’m virtually not in the office because of those things.
I don’t think I should sit here, take courtesy for people to come and greet me. We have a solution. We will be here for four years and nothing gets done. That’s why I’m virtually in Accra. So I know people must have head on Radio they said that i didn’t come for Islamic prayers. Meanwhile, at that time, I was making sure that a factory or a project is being put together to change people’s lives.
The only time you become a religious fanatic, That’s when you don’t have work. Naim will tell you, if you have proper work, sometimes you forget to pray. I’m just saying it. You only get into the evening and say, hey, let me do all my five prayers and verses and God will listen.
It’s when you idle and you drink tea, then you sit down and know it’s prayer time so I’m trying to say we have to be up and doing.
