A Morning Show host of Hope Radio in Wa, Mr. Joseph Oswald Ali has expressed concern over a legal suit filed by the Speaker of Parliament and former MP for Nadowli-Kaleo against the Constituency Organizer, Frederick Kaningen over some allegations concerning MMDCE Candidates and his involvement in the Selection process.

Mr. Oswald Ali in a statement released on Wednesday, 9th April 2025 called for the Speaker to reconsider his decision.

Statement Below:

I don’t believe the way and manner Rt. Hon. Bagbin was accused by Frederick Kaningen and others as well as the choice of words during the press conference was right but de decision to prosecute is an overkill.
Yes! it’s true, the RT. Hon speaker has a reputation to protect however, he has moved beyond being the leader of the constituency to gaining the feet of the grandfather. As far as I know, the courts may only serve a punitive role but would that enhance the peace and tranquility that should be experienced amongst exuberant young men and their political grandfather? Could other avenues be used in settling once and for all these differences?
Can Mr Speaker, ignore the ‘ugly noise’ and move on? That said, why did those involved fail to apologize? Do they have something up their sleeves?
For me, to apologize doesn’t always even mean being wrong but to protect the greater good.
If this case should commence in court and progress to the end, irrespective of the outcome, it would only be a sign that leadership is lacking in all fronts in the constituency. As the sages tell us, ‘an elder does not sit aloof for it to rain on grains’.
The divinity in forgiveness should be prime in all of this and ought not be lost on Mr. Speaker.
God bless Nadowli-Kaleo constituency.
