Adamu Yakubu has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Sissala East Municipality, and he stands resolute in expressing his gratitude to the Assembly Members and all stakeholders for their unwavering confidence in him. His remarks came immediately following his confirmation at a significant ceremony held today at the Municipal Assembly Hall. Hon. Adamu Yakubu obtains 30 votes out of the 31 votes, securing over 90% of the votes.

In his address, Mr Yakubu firmly acknowledged the assembly members for their overwhelming endorsement, vowing to uphold their trust by dedicating himself to the progressive development of the Municipality. He underscored the essential role of unity, collaboration, and inclusiveness in governance, and he called on all stakeholders—including traditional leaders, youth groups, women’s associations, and civil society organizations—to rally behind his administration.

“I am both humbled and honored by the mandate entrusted to me as the Muhonoured Chief Executive. This is not just a personal victory; it is a victory for us all. I assure you that I will work tirelessly with each of you to drive progress, development, and lasting change for the people of Sissala East,” he asserted.

Mr Yakubu also laid out his immediate priorities with clarity and purpose: improving access to quality education, enhancing healthcare services, bolstering agricultural support, and advancing infrastructure and youth empowerment initiatives.

The confirmation ceremony drew a diverse group of dignitaries, including Lawyer Puozuing Charles, the Regional Minister, various representatives from the regional coordinating council, the Regional chairman of the NDC, the Member of Parliament for Sissala East, traditional authorities, political party members, and residents, all of whom greeted the announcement with enthusiasm and optimism.

With his confirmation, Adamu Yakubu officially takes office, ready to initiate stakeholder engagements aimed at strengthening local governance and accelerating the Municipality’s development.
