Assembly Members of Wa Metropolitan Assembly have Convened and confirmed Alhaji Nuru Danwana as Mayor today, 17th April 2025.

He had a 100% endorsement by the Assembly after receiving a 45/45 Endorsement, meaning 45 Yes and 0 No Votes.

Before his endorsement, A Presiding Member was Elected. Hon. Nuhu Abdul-Wahab, Assembly Member of Zingu Electoral Area was elected unanimously by the Assembly, polling 45 Yes Votes out of a Total of 45 Votes, making his endorsement 100%.

Before his election, the Assembly was without a Presiding Member for over a Year, there were attempts to elect a Presiding Member in 2024 but the attempts failed.

Alhaji Nuru Danwana thanked all Assembly members and Sympathizers for the Massive Endorsement and pledged to with with all stakeholders for fruitful outcomes.

Danwana is a business man the General Manager of Spicy Foodies Restaurant, a well recognized Restaurant in the Metropolitan.

He is the Deputy Upper West Regional Regional Secretary of NDC.
