There were smiles and applause at the Sissala West District Assembly as Abudu Fuseini Gbene was unanimously confirmed as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) following a vote of confidence from Assembly Members.
All 30 members present voted “YES” in support of his nomination, giving him a clean 100% endorsement. The confirmation exercise was held in a calm and cooperative atmosphere, reflecting widespread approval of the nominee. According to the Upper West Regional Coordinating Director, one assembly member who reported to the venue was unfortunately taken ill and rushed to the hospital before the vote, hence did not participate.

Before his nomination, Mr. Gbene was a teacher at Hillia Liman Senior High School in Gwollu, located within the Sissala West District. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics Education from the University of Education, Winneba, and is well-regarded for his dedication to youth development and community service.

His confirmation has been welcomed by residents and local stakeholders, many of whom see him as a home-grown leader with the grassroots experience needed to move the district forward.

With this vote of confidence, Mr. Gbene is now expected to officially assume office and begin work to address development priorities across Sissala West.
