In a letter dated, 3rd May 2025, the Kperisi Council of Elders have issued a statement, expressing displeasure and protest over what they referred to as an attempt to impose a Chief on Kperisi Skin.

PROTEST AGAINST INSTALLATION/OUTDOORING AND ENSKINMENT OF NAA SEIDU BRAIMAH AS KPERISI NAA ELECT BY THE WA NAA-NAA FUSEINI SEIDU PELPUO IV
KINGMAKERS OF THE NAJERI CLAN,
CITIZENS OF KPERISI COMMUNITY,
FRIENDS OF THE MEDIA,
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
We found it very necessary to air this because all avenues to prevent the situation even with the Police have not yielded and results.
On behalf of the Tendaamba’s and Elders of the Kperisi Traditional Area, I welcome you all to today’s press conference in the Kperisi community of the Upper West Region. This is to enable us cry out our grievances to the authorities that it may be, to assist us arrest the current chieftaincy situation of our Traditional Area to prevent situation such as Chieftaincy Conflict that are happening in Bawku in the Upper East and other parts of our noble country Ghana.
We the Tendaambas, elders and as landlords/Kingmakers of the Kperisi Traditional Area wish to register our strongest protest and displeasure as to how the Overlord of the Waala State Council is trying to imposed Naa Seidu Braimah as the Kperisi Naa elect to the Kperisi Skin without our consent as Kingmakers within the Kperisi Traditional Area.
As Kingmakers and custodians of our land, we are aware our Royals are in Court with the Kperisi Chieftaincy matters, before the Judicial Committee of the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs, to determine who becomes the next Chief of Kperisi and therefore will not entertain any person/persons, to be installed/outdoor as Kperisi Naa until the Judicial Committee decides otherwise.
For the sake of public peace, we wish to state that the Kperisi Traditional Area now hosed one of the highest institutions thus; (NURSING TRAINING COLLAGE), and students from all over the country are Accommodated to study within the community and therefore will wish to maintained the peace we are already enjoying within the community.
We don’t want any potential threat of a Chieftaincy conflict that will disturb the peace and harmony of the Kperisi Tradition Area, the Region and the Nation at large. We are for peace and would want the maintenance of the peace by both factions. We are also Law abiding and wish not to take the Laws of Ghana into our own hands. We are therefore finally sounding notice that, we shall resist all attempts to impose any nomination other than following out normal Tradition, Custom and Culture of the Naajeri clan within the Kperisi Traditional Area.
We respectfully submit. Long live the Najeri clan of the Kperisi Traditional Area, Long live the Wala State and Long live Mother Ghana.
We are looking for nothing but for peace to prevail. Thank you.
