The Youth Chaplain Rev. Fr. Solomon Kabreyang of St Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Lassia Tuolu said the Parish is known for its vibrant and active community especially when it comes to the involvement of youth. He said the forefront of this youth movement at Lassia Tuolu is the Youth Chaplain and the Parish Youth Executives with their guidance and mentorship which organized the Youth Cultural Festival, a remarkable event that aims to improve societal culture, Catholic Church culture, and academic excellence among school children.

Speaking to Info Radio, Rev. Fr. Solomon shared the objectives of this year’s Youth Cultural Festival. He emphasized that the event is not just about entertainment and fun, but it has a deeper purpose of ultimately benefiting the youth in their societal lives. Through this festival, the organizers hope to promote positive values, foster moral development, and instill a sense of responsibility among the youth.

Rev. Fr. Solomon said one of the key elements of the Youth Cultural Festival is its focus on education. He pointed out, the youth of Lassia Tuolu Parish have a bright future ahead of them, but they need the necessary support, guidance, and sponsorship to achieve their full potential. This is why the festival includes academic quizzes for school children from KG 1 to Junior High 3 in the basic school along Lassia Parish , which not only encourages academic excellence but also provides a platform for the youth to showcase their talents.

Aside from academic pursuits, the Youth Cultural Festival also aims to build relationships and promote socialization among the youth. Rev. Fr. Solomon emphasized the importance of developing meaningful connections, especially in this day and age where technology often takes precedence over face-to-face interactions. This festival provides an opportunity for the youth to come together, establish friendships, and support each other in their personal and spiritual growth.

Rev. Fr. Solomon’s passion for the youth of St Ignatius of Loyola Parish is evident in his words and actions. He believes that the youth are the future of the Church and society, and it is crucial to invest in their development he added. Through events like the Youth Cultural Festival, the Catholic Youth of Lassia Tuolu Parish can learn, grow, and contribute positively to the community.
