The Wa High Court has rearrested Abdul Halim Yahaya and Isaac Anaatakang after setting them free on Wednesday, 21st May 2025.

During proceedings at the Wa High Court, State Attorney, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur appealed to the court to Strike out the case after delays in filing Dockets and inability to make substantial evidence available to the Court, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur indicated that, his office after several requests, is yet to receive DNA test results and forensic audits from the Upper West Regional Police Command Headed by DCOP Darko Lomotey.

His Lordship Justice Yussif Assibey after consensus with the state attorney Acquitted and Discharged Abdul Halim Yahaya and Isaac Anaatakang.

The State Attorney in charge of Upper West Region, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur Indicated his plans to arrest the suspects again and start the case Afresh with prolific evidence at the Wa District Court.

The Decision was however opposed by counsel of Accused Persons, Lawyer Dan who stated that it was unfair to detain the suspects without bail for eight months without trail and substantial evidence.
