Family of Late Jontong Naa Mutala Tendana who was murdered early hours of Thursday, April 11, 2024, in his home at Suuriyiri, a suburb of Wa municipality have taken steps to petition IGP over delay in trial of their court Case.

According to one of the family members known as Abdul Kayum, he indicated that fingerprints, DNA, forensic data needed to try the case by the state attorney were with the police for about a year, hindering the trial process.

He said there has been several attempts to get the necessary information after monies were invested in the investigation processes.

The family of Late Jontong Naa Mutala Tendana gave a one week timeframe for the test results to be made available to State Attorney, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur else they will petition the IGP COP Yohuno and hold the demo on the streets of Wa.

The State Attorney, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur also confirmed to Upper West Media Team on Wednesday, 21st May 2025, that fingerprints, DNA and other necessary evidence needed were with the Police for a year hindering the trial process involving Abdul Halim Yahaya and Isaac Anaatakang over Late Mutala Tendana’s Death.

Meanwhile the case is to be heard at Wa District Court on Friday, 23rd May 2025.
