Alumni Association Elections have become unsuccessful today, 26th – June – 2025 after series of unprofessional conducts at the Voting Center.

Despite a District court order directing a halt of the election process on the 24th of June, the Association Went Ahead with the elections.

According to the Chairman, Mr Annaakaa Waris, The Court Order was directed to the University and not the Alumni Association.

URGENT NOTICE

To all EC DHLTU Alumni,

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the ongoing election has been disrupted. Some non-Alumni and a known Alumni entered the voting hall, threatened the lives of officers, and stole ballot boxes and voting materials.

In light of this, I, Muniru Ibrahim, have decided to:

• Call off the elections temporarily
• Engage with all candidates to find common ground and promote peace within the Association
• Reschedule the elections for a later date, which will be communicated to all Alumni

Please remain calm and patient as we work towards resolving this matter and ensuring a peaceful election process.

UPDATE ON DHLTU ALUMNI ELECTIONS

Good afternoon, esteemed alumni of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University and the public. We, the undersigned aspirants for the 2025 DHLTU Alumni Association Elections, wish to clarify that we have not received any court order setting aside the previous injunction. Consequently, we are unaware of any developments purportedly taking place.

Key facts:

• We received a call from an individual claiming to be the newly appointed EC at 1:29 pm today, stating that elections would be held at 2:00 pm.
• We saw the purported acceptance letter and election notice on the Alumni Association WhatsApp platform at 1:57 pm, with elections scheduled for 2:00 pm – a mere 3 minutes’ notice.
• The EC failed to communicate the venue for the alleged election.

We feel compelled to inform members and the public that we have no knowledge of any legitimate election process taking place today, June 26, 2025. We appreciate your attention to this matter.
