The Wa High Court on 8th of July 2025 Announced the Introduction of
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Office within the Wa High Court to address Civil Cases and find Lasting Solutions to Disputes Among embattled citizens.
According his Lordship Justice Yussif Assibey, The section of the High Court known as Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) has duly been inaugurated for individuals with civil cases to have access to accurate and timely trial.
According to the Judge, Some cases may last up to 4 Years without solution but that section can assist in alleviation of most civil cases.
The Division was established to foster unity and cohesion among people within the society to reduce grudges over court pronouncements and decisions on civil cases.
The High Court Judge Urged individuals to patronize the services of the aforementioned Department during a court session on the 8th of July 2025.
Some sections of Upper West Region including Wa has been flooded with several civil and criminal cases lately. Some of these cases include land disputes, Defilement and Rape cases, Murder and Marriage disputes.
Wa High Court is located along the JJ Rawlings High Street and close to the Wa Naa’s Palace.
A civil case is a legal dispute between two or more parties, typically involving a claim for damages or a request for a specific action, rather than a criminal offense. In a civil case, one party (the plaintiff) alleges that the other party (the defendant) has failed to fulfill a legal obligation or has caused them harm, and seeks a remedy from the court, such as monetary compensation.
