A Divisional Chief of Duori Traditional Area, Naa Blintoh Taasung Abdulai, has directed Officers of Police PID to leave his Electoral Area after one of it’s members Shot a Civilian over Road traffic Offense in Duori.

The shooting incident Occurred on the 1st of July 2025.

The victim, Haruna Abdul Rashid From Tagirayiri was rushed to the Upper West Regional Hospital by a Musician known as Ibrahim Badingu for Treatment.

On the 3rd of July 2025, The assembly Member for Duori Electoral Area, Hon. Zakaria Ibrahim gave a Progress report on the shooting incident of a civilian by a police officer from the PID unit to Sungmaale FM’s Nuhu Sualah.

1. We took steps, went to the regional CID to file a complaint, Directed to meet Officer in Charge of Police PID ..

2.The Officer in Charge of Police PID was before the Divisional Chief of Duori After the Shooting Incident

3.The police behind the shooting incident was detained in cells after we reported the issue to the Police

4.We were assured that the law will take it’s course with regards to this issue

5.The Divisional Chief of Duori has expressed disgust over the shooting incident

6.Duori Naa has condemned the unprofessional conduct of Staff of Police PID in Duori

7.The Chief has directed the Police PID to Relocate from Duori Traditional Area

8.This is the first Time Police PID shot a civilian in our Area but not the first Time a police officer shot a civilian in line of Duty.

9.Some Police Officers Shot a civilian In his way from Dorimon in the Wa West District, that Young man was a Resident of Duori but indigene of Tagirayiri

10.Youth of the area have been angered by actions of the Police PID

11.The New Regional Police Commander failed to pay a courtesy Call on Duori Naa on his arrival unlike his predecessor, An action that could have curtailed the menace
