The Upper West Regional Police Command in a letter Dated 25th – August 2025 has revealed an arrest made on Two Individuals Atif Nuhu, aged 20 years and Abdul Nasiru Issah also 30 years, for allegedly stealing livestock.

WA POLICE FOIL ANIMAL THEFT ON YEBILE ROAD

  1. The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects, Atif Nuhu, aged 20 years and Abdul Nasiru Issah also 30 years, for allegedly stealing livestock.
  2. On Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 3:00am, a police patrol team led by Chief Inspector Eric Kyeremeh intercepted a white Hyundai Grace mini bus (Reg. No. GW 385-10) on the Wa-Yebile road. The vehicle failed to stop when signaled, promoting a chase.
  3. One suspect attempted to flee but was arrested. He sustained a minor injury and was treated at the Wa Municipal Hospital.
  4. A search of the vehicle revealed five nanny goats and three sheep, all with their mouths tied with black tape. The animals and vehicle have been retained as evidence.
  5. The suspects are alleging that, the animals were stolen from the Gwollu area in the Sissala West Districts.
  6. Both suspects are in custody and individuals who may have lost goats or sheep in recent days are encouraged to visit the Wa Municipal Police Station to assist with identification and ongoing investigation.
  7. The Regional Command urges the public to stay alert and report suspicious movements involving animals.
