The Headmistress of Sombo SHS in the Nadowli-Kaleo District, Madam Faustina Dery has been reported Dead today, 15th September 2025.

This was disclosed to Upper West Media Team by Mr. Saeed Faruk, The Headmaster of Northern Star SHS and Member of CHASS.

Madam Dery taught Social Studies for Over a Decade in Schools including Wa Senior High School and was Assistant Headmistress at Wa Senior High Technical School (Wa Sec. Tech) before she was promoted by Ghana Education Service to the Position of Headmistress of Sombo SHS.

The Nadowli-Kaleo GES has been Set Aback by two Unfortunate developments so far with a Similar situation at Queen of Peace SHS, The Headmaster of Queensec, Sir Ib-kuu Abaare passed on in February 2025 before Madam Dery’s Demise.

The Regional Director, Mr Abdul Razak Korah will act in her absence till a substantive Headmaster or Headmistress is Appointed by Ghana Education Service.
