The Wa Municipal Education Directorate headed by Madam Sophia Dimah Nandzo has Issued mass transfers including Disciplinary Transfers to teachers Within the Ghana Education Service.

The Transfer has affected 252 Teachers within the Service as At Monday, 17th September 2025.

Some Teachers have moved to the Office With Complaints including Unfair Hearing Regarding their transfers with some pointing to witch haunt by their immediate supervisors(Headteachers)

“Some of these Headteachers forward names to Officers for transfer but I ask myself one question, do these circuit supervisors or staff at the office have interest in listening to the side of the teacher at all? They work with one sided stories which is not only unethical but unprofessional, a committee should always sit to hear from the teacher before transfers”

So Far the Wa Municipal Director of Education is On Leave whilst some teachers are stranded at the Municipal Education Office seeking a Fair hearing after a notice of their transfers.

Currently the Office has no Human Resource Management Officer Since a former Officer, Mr. Yahaya was Transfered to Wa East District as District Director.

Letters are Yet to be released to Teachers shortlisted in the Transfer list for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
