MTN Ghana on the 21st of October, 2025 brought together key partners, community leaders, media representatives, and loyal customers for a regional stakeholders forum in Wa. This meeting is part of MTN’s nationwide effort to build stronger relationships and promote open, transparent dialogue with those it serves.The forum served as a crucial platform for sharing updates on MTN’s services, infrastructure projects, and social initiatives, while reinforcing collaboration with local stakeholders.

The company aims to keep communication flowing and partnerships growing at every level.

Mr. Joseph Dogbe, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at Scancom, spoke passionately about MTN’s commitment to the Upper West Region. He stressed how vital reliable telecom services are for driving economic growth. Highlighting the company’s massive investment of over GH¢1 billion in digital infrastructure across Ghana over the last five years with GH¢240 million allocated for the current year alone, Mr. Dogbe explained that efforts are focused on expanding fibre optics and 4G networks in preparation for introducing 5G technology.

He revealed that, during a one month observation of digifest, the company came out with exciting innovations like “MTN DigiFest,” an interactive platform showcasing digital solutions, and the “MoMo Business App,” designed to empower small and medium-sized enterprises with smart financial tools. Another standout announcement was the launch of “Abana.ai,” Ghana’s first multilingual AI voice assistant that supports major local languages such as Twi, Ewe, Hausa, Ga, Dagbani, and English making digital services more accessible for everyone.

On governance and compliance, Mr. Dogbe reassured attendees that MTN upholds strong transparency measures, promotes gender diversity in leadership, and enforces strict privacy protections to meet international digital standards while adapting to local needs.

Madam Efua Falconer, Corporate Communications Manager, reminded the audience of MTN’s 15-year journey in the region and promised ongoing improvements to ensure the company continues delivering quality services that fit the community’s unique needs. This forum is one of several MTN has held in 12 regions across Ghana, with plans to reach all 16 regions soon. The interactive panel discussions encourage honest dialogue and feedback to help MTN better serve its customers.

Wa Municipal Chief Executive Alhaji Issah Nurah Danwanaa praised MTN’s role in the community but also called on the company to address congestion problems at its local office.

He proposed spreading out customer service staff to satellite locations for smoother service delivery.

Local media, especially community radio stations, voiced concerns about their inclusion in MTN’s communications. They urged MTN to support local media financially and collaborate on content in local languages, emphasizing that messages delivered in native tongues resonate more deeply with grassroots audiences.
